2017 Symphony Sunday: Be Our Guest!

The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra returns with Charleston’s favorite Symphony event of the year, 2017 Symphony Sunday “Be Our Guest.” For its 35th year, this free outdoor festival features some of the community’s most beloved music, food, games and artisans ending with a WV Symphony concert and fireworks finale looking over the West Virginia State Capitol from the University of Charleston lawn. Sunday activities take place on the beautiful lawn at the University of Charleston, and end with a spectacular fireworks display. Secret Kitchens of Wheeling Tour and Gourmet Market

Enjoy a voyeuristic tour of some of Wheeling’s spectacular kitchens Saturday, June 10 during the Secret Kitchens of Wheeling Tour & Gourmet Market. Begin the self-guided tour between 10am-2pm at the Mansion Museum in Oglebay. You’ll receive a map guiding you to home kitchens tucked away in some of Wheeling’s finest neighborhoods. Kitchens provide design inspiration. You’ll take away ideas for kitchen re-dos and discover simple ways to transform an existing space too! In addition, guests can shop the Gourmet Market from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. outside the Mansion Museum. Merchants and artisans sell kitchen accessories, artwork, baskets, gourmet foods and much more. Market shopping is free, and participation in the tour is not required to shop. Get Tickets for Secret Kitchens of Wheeling Tickets are $17 in advance and $20 the day of the event. Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival

The second annual FREE Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival will feature entertainment by the Del McCoury Band, David Grisman, The Travelin' McCourys, The SteelDrivers, Billy Strings, The Last Waltz Live, The Grass Is Dead, David Gans, and many others. The festival will also feature West Virginia artisans and crafters. The Back Home Festival is sponsored by Visit Wetzel County.

Tomato Festival

Enjoy the best of summer at the 8th annual Tomato Festival – featuring over 50 varieties of tomatoes to sample. There will also be a farmer’s market, tomato contest, music, artisans, food demonstrations, lunch and sweet treats presented by the Marion County Master Gardeners.
