Snowshoe Mountain Welcomes New Almost Heaven Swing
West Virginia celebrates 26th Almost Heaven swing photo-op
Snowshoe, WV – The West Virginia Department of Tourism, in partnership with Snowshoe Mountain has announced the newest Almost Heaven swing, located at Snowshoe Mountain in Pocahontas County. This swing sits atop the Skidder Ski Slope, adjacent to the lift terminal and gives way to scenic views of rolling hills and valleys. The swing can be reached with a short walk from the main Village.
“As you travel around our state, you’ll find that these swings aren’t placed just anywhere,” said President and COO of Snowshoe Mountain Patti Duncan. “They’re found exclusively in places that exemplify the beauty of West Virginia, places where you can fully experience Almost Heaven. To have one here on our mountain at Snowshoe is truly an honor.”
There are now 26 Almost Heaven photo-op swings available throughout the state, making it easy for travelers to check off this adventure on the West Virginia Summer Bucket List. Visitors are encouraged to share their photos on social media using #AlmostHeaven
“This new swing is set in a place that’s overflowing with outdoor adventure and family-friendly activities, Snowshoe Mountain Resort,” said West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby. “Visit Snowshoe this summer to experience world-class mountain biking and beautiful hiking trails before the mountain is soon covered with snow for winter fun.”
Perched at nearly 5,000 feet, Snowshoe Mountain is a premier resort offering endless recreation opportunities such as hiking, biking, off-road dining tours, horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and disc golf. In the colder months, the mountain transforms into a magical winter wonderland with ski slopes, horse-drawn sleigh rides, Christmas shopping in the Village, firepits, ice skating and more.
