Governor Morrisey and First Lady to Host Annual Rhododendron Roll
Easter celebration to be held at the State Capitol Complex on March 28, 2026
Charleston, W.Va. – Governor Patrick Morrisey and First Lady Denise Morrisey invite West Virginians to attend the Annual Rhododendron Roll, a family-friendly Easter celebration set to be held on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the State Capitol Complex. Event activities will take place on the back side of the Capitol Building, between the East and West Wings. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available at the Governor’s Mansion Courtyard. This event is free and open to the public.
“We are so excited to once again celebrate Easter with the wonderful people of West Virginia,” said Governor Morrisey. “We look forward to opening up the Governor’s Mansion Courtyard and Capitol Complex for a fun-filled day of timeless traditions, festive activities, and lively entertainment perfect for all ages.”
Rhododendron Roll Activities:
- Easter Egg Hunts begin at noon and are separated by four age groups:
- Ages 1-3
- Ages 4-6
- Ages 7-8
- Ages 9+
- Meet & Greet with the Easter Bunny at the Governor’s Mansion Courtyard
- Egg Rolls will take place every 15 minutes, beginning at the top of the hour
- Yard Games
- Rock Wall
- Festive Crafts
- Petting Zoo Experience
- Face Painting & Balloon Art
- Bounce Houses
- Food Trucks
The first 500 attendees to arrive will receive commemorative Easter eggs. Children who find golden tickets during the egg hunt will win bikes courtesy of Walmart. Following the event, guests are invited to participate in the Hoppin’ Around History Scavenger Hunt located in the State Museum at the Culture Center.
