New Almost Heaven Swing Unveiling Event at Lake Stephens

Beckley, WV – The West Virginia Department of Tourism, in partnership with the Visit Southern West Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau and Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority, unveiled a new Almost Heaven swing location today overlooking the serene 272-acre Lake Stephens.

“Visit Southern WV is so excited to join the West Virginia Department of Tourism and Lake Stephens in showcasing another incredible Instagrammable location with the addition of an Almost Heaven swing, the first one to be located in Raleigh County,” said Executive Director of Visit Southern West Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau Lisa Strader. “The Cooperative Advertising Program offered by the West Virginia Department of Tourism makes these wonderful types of promotional opportunities possible. We can’t wait to see all the memories shared from the overlook at the lake!”

Home to a 272-acre lake and 2,300-acre park, Lake Stephens is the perfect spot for summer adventure including boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, camping and more. As always, visitors are encouraged to share their swing photos on social media using #AlmostHeaven.

“When we first launched the nine Almost Heaven swings in 2022, we could have never imagined that they would expand into so many gorgeous spots around our state,” said West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby. “A huge thank you goes to Governor Justice, who always embraces and encourages our big ideas. This new location at Lake Stephens showcases yet another beautiful corner of Almost Heaven, and I encourage everyone to check it out this summer.”
