1. Tamarack, Beckley
Tamarack “Best of West Virginia” brings together high-quality, authentic West Virginia foods, crafts and art. An artisan jury hand-selects the featured pieces, so you can be sure everything here is top-quality. You can watch resident artisans at work in their in-house studios. Look for the prominent peaked red roof off of the Turnpike in Beckley and you won’t miss it!
Charleston – The West Virginia State Museum Shop is in the lobby of the Culture Center in Charleston, where you’ll find mostly small items, but also some WV handcrafts from the juried Tamarack artisans.
2. True Treats Historic Candy, Harpers Ferry
Step back in time at True Treats Historic Candy, where they celebrate the town’s rich history with candies from days gone by. Whether you are looking for early frontier sugar candy, or that elusive sweet treat from your childhood, you can find it here. 6. Old Stone House Gift Shop, Morgantown
This petite stone building, a historic landmark and the oldest stone dwelling in Monongalia County, is filled with unique and enchanting items. Some of the fan favorites are local artisan crafts, WVU student artworks, Ron Hinkle Glass and books by West Virginia authors. Plus, you’ll already need to stop in, because it’s the only place to get the Old Stone House’s signature spiced tea!
The shop is run by volunteers from the Service League of Morgantown, who donate the money back to the community.
