Here are some spots to savor this year as you take in the festive glow of the summer season at this year’s fair from August 12th to 21st.

Ben Ellen Donuts

With humble beginnings, Ben Ellen Donuts started in a tent in 1952 and is one of only a handful of vendors who have been serving hungry state fair-goers since the 1950s. Their cinnamon-sugar cider doughnuts pair excellently with a morning cup of coffee to start off your day of fun.

CS Funnel Cakes & Elephant Ears

Dubbed West Virginia’s Fried Food Capitol, the state fair is known for its wild collection of deep-fried goodies. From the counter of CS Funnel Cakes & Elephant Ears grab anything from Oreos, candy bars, elephant ears or funnel cakes–all battered and fried just how we like it.

Zul’s Midway Cafe

Zul’s offers multiple lunch and dinner options, such as their delectable Philly cheesesteak or pork barbeque sandwiches. Don’t forget to grab your very own ever-popular pepperoni roll with a Zul’s frozen lemonade for a true Almost Heaven meal.

Cowboy Daniel’s Corn Stand

Every year roasted corn is one of the most popular foods at the fair–with buttery goodness on everyone’s minds. Cowboy Daniel’s is fully prepared with their menu of freshly roasted corn as well as refreshing tea to keep you going in the warm summer sunshine.

Mountaineer Diner

Mountaineer Diner is your place to find a full plate to eat! Having one of the biggest menus offered at the state fair, this stop has something for everyone in the family. Head to Mountaineer Diner with a big appetite and leave ready to take on more festive fun.

Son’s-Sational Cinnamon Rolls

Long before their sweet treats became a favorite Instagramable shot at the State Fair of West Virginia, Son’s-Sational has been serving up cinnamon rolls to happy fairgoers. Be sure to grab your ooey-gooey bite–whether as breakfast or dessert.

Trudy’s Dairy World

Trudy’s Dairy World is proudly back again for 2021, as one of the longest-running vendors at the State Fair of West Virginia. This unbeatable ice cream is homemade by the Hlay family and has been sweetening up the state fair since the early 1950s. There is no better way to refresh in the heat than with an ice-cold scoop.

If your mouth is watering for these state fair finds, you can find each and every one of these delicious vendors at the State Fair of West Virginia from August 12th-21st. Make sure to bring your appetite!
