At the Apple Butter Festival in Berkeley Springs, the smell of apples, cinnamon and spices will be wafting through the air during the two-day event. Large copper kettles are the centerpieces of this festival. Anyone can stir and take home the delicious apple butter being made on site.  The festival also has friendly competitions such as an egg toss, hog call and turtle race. With no admission fee and activities for all ages, this is the perfect day or weekend experience for everyone from grandma to the kids.

Get Artsy at FestivALL Fall

During this weekend festival, the capital city of Charleston turns into a work of art. With an assortment of both indoor and outdoor activities, you will be able to experience theater, fine art, live music and much more at this event. Kids will love the spooky science experiments and other hands-on crafts.

Roll into Hinton’s Railroad Days

Hop on a train in Huntington and take in all the beautiful fall foliage on your way to the quaint town of Hinton. There’s something truly magical about a fall train ride through Almost Heaven while the leaves are turning their warm hues of orange, yellow and red. Once you’ve arrived, visit the unique vendors, delicious food stands and fascinating Railroad Museum exhibits. You can even take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the Hinton Historic District.

Frolic at Orr’s Fall Farm Fun Days

This event kicks off the official start of fall the right way. Spend the day outside at Orr’s Farm Market’s kid- and family-friendly farm. The kid’s activity area features face painting, a moon bounce and fun crafts to take home. A short hayride will take you to the pumpkin patch and corn maze. Your family will be sure to have a ball winding through tall stalks of corn and enjoying the fresh, crisp air.

Have the Ultimate Pumpkin Experience

The Ceredo-Kenova Autumn Fest unites the two small communities for a weekend celebration of fall. At the festival, you can expect to find a parade, lots of good food, local arts and craft vendors, and plenty of family-friendly activities for all ages. The famous Pumpkin House is the focal point of the event. Good luck choosing which jack-o-lantern is your favorite; it will be difficult to choose out of the 3,000 in the grandiose display.
