Festival Life in a Quaint West Virginia Town

Dry Creek Music and Arts Festival: June 23-24

Tucked away in Greenbrier County in southeastern West Virginia is White Sulphur Springs – a destination that may be known to few but should be explored by all. It is home to a one-of-a-kind art scene, unique shops, delicious cuisine options and exciting attractions. Each year, this quaint downtown community plays host to a celebration of art, music, food and culture. An annual event that locals and tourists alike have come to anticipate and adore.

The Dry Creek Music and Arts Festival is a full weekend of live music, art vendors, local food, spirits, brews and activities for the entire family. This year, the event kicks off with a New Orleans Style 2nd Line Parade from Gum Store Studios to the Main Stage at Big Draft Brewing. The nightly entertainment will continue Friday evening with a live performance from Dark Matters. This full-on, soul-grooving dance band consists of horns, organs, and profound voices.

Appalachian Arts and Crafts

The next day, Main Street will be closed to host some of the best regional artists and craftspeople as they display their paintings, jewelry, pottery, photography, woodworking, glassware and more. Local artisans such as Wren’s Nest Art Studios, Fierce Sonia, Art Farm at Cross Creek, Amanda Brooks, Marie Lewis and River & Earth Creations by Vicky are just a few of the impressive names on the vendor list. Live performances from artists like Charlie Brown Superstar, Funk You, Sneezy, Massing and Of The Dell will fill the air as they perform on stages sprinkled throughout downtown. Kids’ activities will also graciously be provided by partners like the Schoolhouse Hotel and Carnegie Hall.

Local Eats

When hunger calls, head to one of the many neighboring restaurants lining Main Street for some good old-fashioned grub. Establishments such as Big Draft Brewery, 50 East Restaurant & Tavern, Road Hog’s Diner and The Schoolhouse Hotel will be ready to serve up their finest signature dishes.

Created in 2022 as a complement to the already incredible post-flood rejuvenation of downtown White Sulphur Springs, this festival is courtesy of a joint production effort between Big Draft Brewing, Road Hog’s Diner, 50 East Restaurant & Tavern, The Schoolhouse Hotel, and Lucky Penny dba Gum Store Studio. Together, these diverse partners have created a powerful, beautiful, and welcoming event for people of all ages and all interests.
