The West Virginia Astrophotography Association in partnership with Blackwater Falls State Park, will host our 2024 Annual Conference. This is your chance to learn about the art and science of astrophotography and astronomy.
The conference will have workshops with guest speakers from 9am-5pm on Friday and Saturday. Following the workshops, head on over to the Pendleton Lake Nature Center for our evening star parties (both days). WVAA will have our outreach Seestar Telescopes so you can choose your target and take your very own instantly shareable astro image. This event is for beginners-to-advanced.
Most attendees will arrive on August 1 and leave on August 4. Early attendees are welcome to attend a star party social on Thursday night at the Pendleton Lake Nature Center. Of course, please attend your chosen day at your convenience.
The conference itself will be hosted at the Blackwater Falls Lodge Conference area from 9am-5pm. We have a couple workshops at the Nature Center as well. Topics include: WVAA Who are we, imaging editing & techniques with software such as Pixlnsight, Siril and others, Asteroid Photometry with Amateur equipment, Astroscapes, Seestars, Intro to Astrophotography, Live Planetary observation and processing from Crete, Greece, and Eclipse and Aurora Photography. Please see the link to our listed Facebook page for the schedule of events.
We look forward to seeing you out there! This is a FREE event to attend.
