The WV Coal Festival takes place in Madison, WV each year in June. This year our festival will take place on June 18-22nd and this is our 30th Anniversary.
This is a special week in the City of Madison and Boone County as we roll out the red carpet for our many visitors who are here for the 30th Annual West Virginia Coal Festival. The five-day event is great time to get together to celebrate coal mining and its heritage. We’re proud of an industry that originated in Boone County where coal was First Discovered in Peytona in 1742.
We have live entertainment, car/offroad/truck shows, parade, vendors, and many individual events for everyone.
