Located on the Potomac River with striking views of the Blue Ridge, Shepherdstown is West Virginia’s oldest town. Its Christmas parade is organized annually by the local Rotary Club. The goal is to provide a festive, wholesome, family-oriented holiday event for townspeople and visitors alike. The parade lasts about an hour and always features marching bands, floats and marching groups of all kinds, antique vehicles, firetrucks galore, and of course Santa Claus. If you’re looking for a big small-town Christmas experience in a picturesque, historic setting, this is it! You’ll find many interesting shops and restaurants as well.
