This event serves as a fundraiser for the Clarksburg History Museum, a non-profit organization run by local volunteers. The event cost is $25. The event begins with a movie showing of “The Night of The Hunter” (1955) film starring Robert Mitchum, Shelly Winters, Lillian Gish, Billy Chapin, Sally Jane Bruce, and Peter Graves. The film depicts a serial killer, who poses as a preacher to lure an unsuspecting widow for her late husband’s hidden money. The film is loosely based on the true story of Harry Powers.
This film is now considered one of the greatest films ever made. The movie will be at the Historic Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The Clarksburg History Museum will be open after the film.
A tour of the Farm site, with a live storyteller, will follow the movie’s showing. A bus will be provided to shuttle those who want to attend the Farm Tour.
