Harpers Ferry Highland Games - October 4, 2025

The Harpers Ferry Highland Games return to Sam Michaels Park on October 4–5, 2025, bringing two full days of Celtic athleticism, music, dance, and family fun to the Eastern Panhandle. Hosted by the Harpers Ferry Celtic Culture Society, gates open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m..

The Highland Games are a centuries-old tradition featuring feats of strength and skill. Attendees can witness iconic competitions including the caber toss, hammer throw, stone put, and sheaf toss—all performed by seasoned athletes from across the region. The celebration extends beyond the field with a vibrant pipes and drums competition, Highland dance performances, and live Celtic music throughout the weekend.

This year’s Games proudly support the Jefferson County Council on Aging (JCCOA), a nonprofit dedicated to serving older adults across the region with programs that promote wellness, independence, and dignity.
