General Chuck Yeager’s 100th Birthday International Celebration

Marshall University’s Bill Noe Flight School will be presenting a three plane formation fly by at 10:30 a.m. at Yeager Airport. Mrs. Chuck Yeager will be at the Airport for the event.

General Chuck Yeager, born in Myra, West Virginia, was the first person, risking his life and limb, to fly faster than sound thus opening up space and keeping US air superiority. Prior to that he was a World War II fighter ace and war hero, having carried a wounded airman over the steepest, most treacherous part of the Pyrenees in 3’ of snow for 4 days and nights to safety.
