Forks of Coal SNA – June 4 – NATIONAL TRAILS DAY

West Virginia State Parks Chief Sam England and Kanawha State Forest Superintendent will be leading a National Trails Day Hike beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Forks of Coal State Natural Area. Approximately 4 miles will be walked on a total of three trails with opportunity to go the distance or participate as desired. Other activities include: 9:00 a.m. meet and greet 'All About Bluebirds' with Alum Creek resident Loren Smith - learn about bluebirds, next boxes and habits of bluebirds. A Songbird HIke at 9:00 a.m. features naturalist Sara Miller. Bring binoculars and bottled water or snacks, if desired. All events begins at the brown kiosk in the large parking area.
