Preserving the harvest was essential for our ancestors’ survival, and it can still enrich our lives today!
Join us 9am-3pm on Saturday, August 27 at the Schrader Environmental Education Center. This event is age appropriate for Adults.
This hands-on food preservation workshop walks you through the steps of freezing, fermenting, canning with a water bath, and using a pressure canner. Leave with sauerkraut, dill pickles, hot pepper jelly, canned tomatoes, and more! Bring an apron if you have one. Program includes a homemade lunch. Led by mother-daughter duo, Cindy & Molly Check.
Preregistration is required (limit 12). The price to attend is $45 for non-members and $40 for OI members.
