Festival Finale – ACMF Summer Festival - August 16, 2026

August 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm

We close our 2026 season with a kaleidoscopic celebration at the historic and beloved Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. This 75-minute finale brings together our entire string artist roster for a program that spans centuries and styles—from the grace of Mozart to the modern brilliance of Bacewicz and the premiere of Alex Weiser’s Airs of Awe and Wonder, featuring Sam Suggs, bass. Join us as we reflect on two weeks of change, connection, and exhilarating music, ending on a high note with selections from our ACMF festival tradition: Selections from the Danish String Quartet’s “Woodworks” and “Last Leaf” albums.

Program includes
Kenji Bunch – The Still Small Voice for String Octet (9’)
Bacewicz – Quartet for 4 violins (12’)

Max Richter – On the Nature of Daylight (6’)
Alex Weiser – Airs of Awe and Wonder (18’) World Premiere
