More Information:
Sankt Nicholaus Eve is a time of festivities and a time of whispers and giggles. Shops are full of may shaped biscuits, gilt gingerbreads — sometimes representing Sankt Nicholaus, of sugar images, toys and other little gifts. In many countries including America, these holiday festivities attributed to the gift-giving Sankt Nicholas now transferred to Christmas and Santa Claus.
Helvetia and Pickens welcome visitors to rediscover the origins of Ol’ Saint Nick. Bring the kids for some Christmas fun and participation in an old Swiss tradition. Baking Swiss grittibanz, games, refreshments, reading of the traditional Saint Nicholas story, and a visit from Saint Nicholas himself who will bring treats for the children. 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Potluck dinner for children and adults starts at 5:30 p.m. Square Dance. 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. All events are at the Community Hall.
