The Community Coalition for Social Justice invites everyone to explore the theme of “West Virginia Civil Rights Leaders” on Monday, January 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Main Street Morgantown co-sponsors this family-friendly event with the City of Morgantown providing financial support. The WVU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will provide the program via Zoom and Facebook Live.

Our program will include information about some of West Virginia’s civil rights leaders and a performance by Ilene Evans portraying Memphis Tennessee Garrison, a teacher and NAACP leader. Demarcus Bandy will represent the NAACP with a presentation on “Structural and Systemic Racism and How to Build an Equitable Future.” Janis-Rozena Peri will sing.
