Basic Pottery Workshop

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

| $75

In this three-part workshop, participants will be introduced to the basics of wheel throwing by learning how to center, open, and pull clay to create functional forms. In addition, we will explore how to pull handles for mugs, add feet to vessels, and to alter, trim, add texture, and glaze thrown pots. The first weekend (Saturday July 30th and Sunday 31st, 10-2 each day), participants will create and trim their pieces. The following Saturday, August 6th from 10-2, participants will come back to wax and glaze their creations. The pieces will be available to pick up starting on Saturday, August 13th. Cost of materials included in workshop price. Class is capped at 8 participants. This workshop is led by master potter, Megan Crowley. Contact the Aurora Project by phone, (304) 735-3620, or email, info@auroraproject.org, for more information or reservations.
