Tourism Works Free Online Trainings

The West Virginia Department of Tourism partnered with the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College to develop a free online hospitality and tourism course for West Virginians.

This FREE course teaches skills essential to a wide range of career paths in tourism and hospitality. Those who complete all 12 microcredentials–certifications in skills ranging from strategic planning to greeting guests to service fundamentals and more–will earn one hour of college credit and become Certified Destination Specialists. From event planners and hotel managers to ski instructors and museum educators, the course content is useful for anyone who interacts with visitors to the state. Tourism Works is for every West Virginian, whether working in the tourism industry or in any position in which they encounter visitors.
