World’s Largest Tea Pot
Chester, WVConstructed By William Babe Devon. Originally it was a gigantic wooden Hogshead Barrel For A Hire's Root Beer Advertising Campaign. Devon Purchased The Barrel In Pennsylvania And Had It Shipped To Chester Where It Was Set Up On Carolina Avenue, Which Is Also State Route 2. Devon was a booster of the region’s then-vibrant pottery industry, and used the Teapot to sell snacks and souvenirs. The Teapot Is 14 Feet In Diameter And Approximately 14 Feet High. The Teapot Was Moved To A Location Adjacent To The Jennings Randolph Bridge Ramp, A Heavily Trafficked Area At The Junction Of State Route 2 And U.S. Route 30.
