Seneca State Forest

Oldest of West Virginia's state forests, Seneca borders the beautiful Greenbrier River in Pocahontas County. The main attraction of the forest is the 65-foot Thorny Mountain Fire Tower, which was recently highlighted by National Geographic. The forest offers pioneer guest cabins; a four acre lake for trout, bass and bluegill fishing; a small campground and 11,684 acres of lush woodlands for hiking, hunting or communing with nature.
The forest features Pioneer Cabins, opened for rental seasonally. Hiking, fishing, and quiet solitude are the hallmarks. The main attraction of the forest is the 65-foot Thorny Mountain Fire Tower. Come stay overnight in the secluded tower and take in the breathtaking sunsets with it's 360 degree views.
