Mon Forest Towns Partnership

Elkins, West Virginia

The Mon Forest Towns Partnership is a community-led non-profit that connects twelve gateway communities surrounding the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia, linking small-town culture with world-class outdoor recreation. Each of the 12-member towns offers its own unique character, local restaurants, shops, and lodging, while serving as a basecamp for exploring over a million acres of public land – from expansive national forest wilderness to iconic state parks and stunning nature preserves.

From small-business support for residents to collaborative planning resources for partners and trip-planning tips for visitors, the partnership connects trails and gateway towns across one of the most biodiverse regions in the eastern United States.
