Magic Island
Charleston, WVThe flat five-acre island - connected to the mainland - includes a walking trail and beach volleyball courts, and is conveniently located close to hotels, shopping and dining. The island gained its name due to the rise and fall of the river level in the Kanawha, which caused the island to slip underwater, as if by "magic." The park hosts such events as SportsFEST, WV Games, family movie nights and many others. While more popular during the warmer months, Magic Island is open year-round.
