Gobblers’ Knob Guest House

Berkeley Springs, WV

Gobblers' Knob Guest House, perched on a peaceful mountain top at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley near Berkeley Springs and Cacapon Resort State Park, takes its name from the wild turkeys that roam on the property.

This intimate and romantic vacation retreat is conveniently located 100 miles from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD; 210 miles from Philadelphia; and 150 miles from Pittsburgh, PA. The secluded cottage has been authentically and lovingly restored and meticulously preserved to its 1820's roots. It is tastefully decorated with 1820-1840 period antiques and furnishings that reflect the historic charm of the period. Modern amenities have been added for comfort and convenience. Boasting a large front porch, the home begs for company to share its breathtaking view of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Gobblers' Knob has been featured in regional magazines, local newspapers, and on national television as a high-end beauty spot.

The two-story, hand-hewn log home with its luxury addition provides delightful accommodations. The first floor includes a separate dining room with an immense wood-burning stone fireplace, a living room with a full-sized sleeper sofa, and a fully modern kitchen equipped with a microwave oven and other time-saving amenities. Also on the first floor and across the hall from the full bathroom is the R and R (Romance and Relaxation) room, featuring a two-person whirlpool bath. For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer in the first-floor mudroom. The second floor has a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a second bedroom with a set of twin beds. There is also a charming sitting room between the bedrooms.

Your favorite pastime may be relaxing in the hammock or enjoying the sun-bathed hills on the swing on the front porch; watching deer, raccoons, foxes, rabbits, turkeys, and other wildlife; or enjoying a meal at the picnic table in the woods. The surrounding area provides a wealth of things to do and see. Cacapon Resort State Park is five minutes away for hiking, sight-seeing, horseback riding, boating, swimming, fishing, tennis, nature walks, and golf at the Robert Trent Jones Championship Golf Course.

Berkeley Springs with its charming shops, antique malls, spas, arts center, vintage theater, and numerous restaurants is just ten minutes away.
