C & O Railroad Depot
Alderson, WVThe restored C&O Depot (c. 1896) sports its original colors and a small museum of local and railroad history which is open by appointment. The depot is also an Amtrak whistle-stop--a flag stop along the route of the Cardinal. The train stops only when passengers are present, either on the train or station platform, and ticketed to and/or from this station. Reservations are required. The station consists of a platform and shelter adjacent to the historic depot. Amtrak began serving the community on April 29, 1979. Amtrak does not provide ticketing or baggage services at this station, which is served by the tri-weekly Cardinal (Westbound: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday; Eastbound: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday).
