Brooke County Historical Museum
Wellsburg, WVLocated in the former G.C. Murphy Building in historic Wellsburg, West Virginia, the Brooke County Historical Museum and Cultural Center, formed in 1975, was the first county museum in the state. The “life museum” captures moments of small-town history, displaying furniture manufactured in Wellsburg, items of the 1780-1800-1900's, toys, and other artifacts of interest.
The rich military background of the area is on display with samples of uniforms, ammunition, maps, and recorded stories from all branches of the military. The museum is committed to protecting, preserving, and presenting Brooke County artifacts dating from 1730 to the present.
