The Festivities Begin in September
Vintage Raceboat Regatta
Sept. 1-3, 2023
Visit Wheeling’s Heritage Port to watch race boats run on the river at speeds between 60 and 140 mph during the Vintage Raceboat Regatta! Learn about how these boats were first built during the 1920s, take part in driver autograph sessions and listen to live music – a great way to spend your Labor Day weekend!
West Virginia Sunflower Festival
Sept. 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2023
Sunset Berry Farm, located in Alderson, is famously known for its sweet strawberries but is now the new home of a 2-acre sunflower field. Come capture your own beautiful photos amongst the sunflowers and take part in a family day of fun with various food vendors, scavenger hunts and more!

National Trailfest is a premier off-road event for side-by-side, ATV and dirt bike enthusiasts hosted in the town of Gilbert. Complete with prize giveaways, a mud pit, casino night, poker run and more, this event is sure to give every adventurer a thrill.
WV Pumpkin Festival

Pack up the family and head to Milton, WV where a Pumpkin wonderland awaits each year. As you stroll the fairgrounds, live music will fill your ears and larger-than-life pumpkins will be within sight. Be sure to bring your appetite to the WV Pumpkin Festival – where pumpkin ice cream, freshly roasted corn, funnel cakes and more are among the vast food options.
Oct. 21, 2023
Held every third Saturday in October, this special event is the largest single-day festival in the state of West Virginia. On this day, thousands of people gather together in Fayetteville to BASE jump from the New River Gorge Bridge as thousands of other people watch in amazement. Stroll the bridge to discover local artisans, participate in the 5K and explore one of America’s “coolest small towns”.
Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival

This Martinsburg festival prides itself in promoting the apple industry for the state of West Virginia with this annual homecoming event. With unique events ranging from apple pie baking and apple photography contests to an apple-themed parade and pageant, there are entertainment options here for everyone.
