4 Fun Things to do Inside This Week to Celebrate West Virginia

It can be hard to find new things to do after so many weeks staying at home. Here are four fun things to do inside this week that celebrate our West Virginian heritage.

1. View Online Exhibits of the West Virginia Cultural Center

Even though the West Virginia Cultural Center is closed, you can still learn all about West Virginia history through their online exhibits. These are a great way to engage your kids in their West Virginia History lessons. The exhibits include the USS WV, The Creation of West Virginia, Celebrating Lives: A History of African Americans in West Virginia, and more.

2. Listen to Mountain Stage Radio Online

Music festivals may be cancelled right now, but you can still listen to Mountain Stage performances through Mountain Stage Radio. This online radio plays 24/7 and features some of the greatest performances from the first 30 years of Mountain Stage.

3. Learn How to Make Pepperoni Rolls

Celebrate the West Virginia state food by learning how to create this lunchtime classic. The Marion County CVB has a wonderful video where you can learn about the history and different variations of the pepperoni roll. You can watch that video here.

4. Test Your Knowledge on West Virginia History

Think you know a lot about West Virginia history? Test your knowledge through the West Virginia Culture Center’s trivia quizzes. These are a great resource for fun facts about our state and are a great way to prepare for the Golden Horseshoe. You can find the quizzes here.
