Ohio Valley Chicken and Rib Cook-off
The Ohio Valley Rib & Chicken Cook-Off will be heating up at Wheeling’s Heritage Port on June 22 and 23, from noon until 11:30 p.m. each day. Rib burners will be out to impress the judges with their secret recipes and to win bragging rights by claiming the Carl Carenbauer Grand Champion Trophy. This top award is given to the rib burner who has the highest combined score from the rib and the chicken competitions.
2018 Almost Heaven BBQ Bash (WV State BBQ Championship)
Come enjoy the only Kansas City BBQ Society Sanctioned BBQ competition in WV with professional and backyard BBQ teams from nearly 20 states competing for nearly $15,000 in cash & prizes, with some teams selling the best BBQ you'll find anywhere! Also features dozens of "handcrafted" items - some providing on-site demonstrations, delicious food vendors, LIVE entertainment, kids activities, drawings, exhibits, a variety of asylum tours, Pig Mania (contest with decorated 100 lb. concrete pigs), and more. This event also serves as the WV State BBQ Championship with the winner representing WV at the Jack Daniels Worldwide Invitational BBQ Tournament, the American Royal BBQ Tournament, Sonny's BBQ Tournament, and a WV team will also win the "WV Cup" from the Mid-Atlantic BBQ Association.

Bikes & BBQ
1st Annual Backyard BBQ Cook-off and Bike Tour of Mason County. Enjoy some of the area’s best home cookin’, live music, and take a ride through the beautiful countryside of Mason County. Bike rides - 42 mile, 20 mile and 6 mile options. BBQ Cook-off - BBQ teams $50.00, ride and eat $25.00, taste and vote $5.00. Presented by Point Pleasant Parks and Recreation and Point Pleasant Bike Trail.
Bikes & BBQ
Do you like riding your bike, smoking meats, or eating great food? Or eating BBQ while riding your bike? (We won't judge). If so, then Point Pleasant is the place to be on June 9th for our second annual "Bikes & BBQ." We will have select routes for cyclists of all levels and a backyard BBQ cook off to prove that your ribs and/or chicken are the best around.
