What is a tape, or band, loom? How do they fit into the ‘fabric’ of American history? This class will offer an informal and fun introduction to tape loom weaving. We will begin by discussing what a tape loom is and what role they played in 18th and 19th century families and communities. Workshop participants will get hands-on instruction on the basic techniques of how to weave on a tape loom. Different styles of tape looms will be on hand for display and instructor demonstration. Attendees are welcome to bring their own tape loom, however there will be practice looms available for attendee use during the workshop period. Expect to leave with a sample of your own weaving!
Workshop Fee: $50.00 | This workshop fee covers instruction and supplies. Please bring your own scissors, a tape measure, and a narrow yarn or carpet needle.
