A Foodie’s Long Weekend Road Trip in West Virginia

Begin your long weekend road trip of delicious food in the charming town of Lewisburg. Lewisburg is a historic town with dozens of boutique shops, art galleries and restaurants lining its picturesque main street. In Lewisburg, there’s no shortage of unique restaurants including Hill and Holler a restaurant that uses fresh and simple ingredients for their pizzas. Bridge Brew Works features locally brewed, creatively crafted beers. Stop by their new tasting room for a flight of their beers or grab a pint of one of their classics. Try their Peregrine Porter, caramelized barley creates smooth hints of chocolate and coffee, with aromas of dark fruit.

After your stay in Fayetteville, head up to the gorgeous mountain town of Davis about two hours and 50 minutes away. Town staples include Sirianni’s and Bright Morning Inn which are conveniently located right down the street from each other. Sirianni’s has been serving New York-style pizza since 1988, and Bright Morning Inn overs fresh bites as well as a place to rest your head.

Just down the street you’ll find Stumptown Ales, a brewery that pays homage to hops and brews with passion and precision and embraces the town’s history. Try their Six Legged Frog IPA, brewed with an abundant of galaxy hops from Australia for fruity hop flavors and little bitterness.

After your mountain town escape, it’s time to head to Shepherdstown, a gorgeous town with colonial ambiance and old-world elegance just a two hours and 25 minutes’ drive away.
