1. Winter climbing and hiking at Seneca Rocks

Want to really test your manhood? Take a weekend scaling the crown jewel of rock climbing in West Virginia.

Seneca features various routes that range in difficulty from easy to hard, so it’s easy for climbers of all backgrounds. What’s more, Seneca Rocks Climbing School provides instruction and packages ranging from the Beginner to the Spartan. Seneca also has several local dining and lodging options. It’s a great way to bond with the guys and face the elements!

2. Cross-country skiing at White Grass Ski Touring Center

Need a mancation full of adventure that is easy on the wallet? No problem – check out White Grass Ski Touring Center. This is a cross country mecca tucked away in the mountains, with over 160 inches of snowfall each year and more than 60 km of trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are numerous lodging and dining choices around the greater Canaan area, too, so putting together a great mancation getaway should not be a problem.

3. Pipestem guy’s weekend

Take a weekend with the guys and relax at Pipestem Mountain Chalets. These retreats include amenities such as fire pits for an evening of good whiskey and laughter, large porches for a great cigar, and saunas to sweat out those impurities. An added bonus? Spa services are available at the Pipestem Spa, where chalet guests receive a discount.

4. Weekend whiskey tastings

Another winter great mancation destination includes a visit to Greenbrier County and Smooth Ambler Spirits Distillery. Their Tasting and Retail Room offers a space to relax, mingle, and enjoy handcrafted spirits. After tasting, grab the guys and take a tour. You’ll discover how whiskey is made and learn about the distilling process. Once you’re done, check into the General Lewis Inn, located close to the center of town, then head out for some fun at The Asylum or The Irish Pub on Washington Street.
