Department of Tourism shares second fall foliage update of 2026

Charleston, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Tourism has issued its second official 2026 foliage report and updated statewide map.

Fall has officially swept across Tucker and Pendleton counties, with the leaves changing almost overnight. Leaves continue to turn across West Virginia. This week’s top destinations to catch some fall foliage include a scenic train ride at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, a drive around Davis and Thomas, shopping in Elkins, Seneca Rocks and Kumbrabrow State Forest.

Travelers planning a fall getaway can easily pair foliage viewing with unique local attractions:

Travelers and locals are invited to join the conversation by using #AlmostHeaven and tagging @wvtourism on social media with photos to help create the state’s weekly fall foliage updates.
