Cedar Creek State Park Welcomes New Almost Heaven Swing

Almost Heaven SWINGO challenge offers exclusive prizes for travelers

Charleston, WV  – The West Virginia Department of Tourism has announced a new Almost Heaven swing at Cedar Creek State Park. Nestled along Cedar Creek in Gilmer County, this state park offers miles of hiking trails, fishing sites, a miniature golf course, outdoor pool, a reconstructed one-room schoolhouse and a restored log cabin. The new Almost Heaven offers scenic views of the park’s three fishing ponds.

These Almost Heaven swings have become iconic photo destinations that inspire travelers to explore every corner of the Mountain State,” said West Virginia Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby. “We’re excited to add Cedar Creek State Park to the growing list of swing locations and invite travelers to share their photos on social media using #AlmostHeaven.”

Visitors are encouraged to participate in SWINGO, West Virginia’s fresh take on BINGO. Inspired by the beloved Almost Heaven swing photo ops, this challenge invites travelers to visit the more than sixty locations across the state and check in on mobile devices to earn exclusive prizes. The “SWINGO” digital board is available for a limited time this spring and summer.

How to Play

Modeled after the West Virginia Waterfall Trail, travelers can visit wvtourism.com/swings to register for a digital BINGO board delivered straight to their smartphones. As participants explore swing locations that match seasonal SWINGO categories, they can check in and mark off spots on their board. This interactive adventure is made possible through a collaboration with Bandwango, a travel technology platform that makes checking in at each location quick and easy.

Participants can earn exclusive prizes by completing board milestones, just like traditional BINGO:
