Celebrate Geared Logging Locomotive history.Pocahontas County is home to the mighty Shays, a Heisler, and Climax Old #3 geared logging locomotives. Each one is different, yet each played a similar role in our Appalachian logging and railroading history. Excursions availableon trains with all three locomotive types throughout the weekend. The Bald Knobexcursion ticket includes a “King of the Road” Hobo lunch.
