KVAS & WVAA 1st Star Party of 2026 - February 20, 2026

Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society & West Virginia Astrophotography Association will be hosting the first star party of 2026 for both groups.

Please come out and join us on February 20, 2026, at 6:30 pm. We will have both observation astronomy through the KVAS club telescope and member astrophotography rigs set up. Smart Telescope will be available to the public. Bring a smartphone or tablet to connect to a Smartscope image, and save it to your device to take home with you. Members will be on hand to walk the public through using the club telescope and astrophoto smartscopes. Also, bring your own telescopes or smartscopes.

The star party will be weather-dependent. If it is raining or the skies are cloudy, we will reschedule. We do try to notify of a star party cancellation or postponement within 3 days of the scheduled star party. Also, we understand it is pretty cold outside this time of year. There is a small warming room on-site, but it is limited to a very small number, and people will need to take turns if it is used.
