Gauley Season is 23 days of the best whitewater in the world – all right here in Almost Heaven. Scheduled water releases from the Summersville Dam create unbelievable whitewater on the Gauley River from September through mid-October. So, you still have some time to get in on the action.
For a milder ride, consider the Lower Gauley with its fun waves and thrilling action. For a wilder ride, go for the Upper Gauley, which brings extreme Class V rapids and intense adventure.
