A Quick Trip in the Metro Valley: Experience History, Culture and So Much More

Cityscapes, unique stops, shops, small town charm and so much more await in Almost Heaven’s Metro Valley region. Day One

The city of Huntington has great shopping, dining and outdoor recreation opportunities. In Huntington, Pullman Square, Heritage Station and The Market are all great places to dine, explore, shop and get a taste of the city. Another favorite in the city is the Huntington Museum of Art, which features permanent displays of glass, portraits, artifacts and includes a tropical plant conservatory and nature trails. Or simply stroll through gorgeous Ritter Park, which is known for its beautiful Rose Garden.

Day Two

In West Virginia’s Capital City, Charleston, history, culture and outdoor adventure awaits at every corner. Explore the city’s vibrant downtown area and you’ll discover the Capitol Market, the Appalchian-inspired 1010 Bridge Restaurant & Catering and specialty shops like Base Camp Printing Co. and Kin Ship Goods.

The Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences is always a highlight of any trip to the city. At The Clay Center, experience music, theater, art and science all at once. The Juliet Art Museum, Avampato Discovery Museum and the Caperton Planetarium and Theater all feature incredible exhibits and hands-on learning activities.

After exploring downtown, check into the lovely Brass Pineapple Bed and Breakfast Inn located in the city’s historic East End District. Tours are offered April through November and a tasting is included with each tour. After your incredible tour head, back to the Brass Pineapple Bed and Breakfast Inn where you can explore more of the city or simply relax.
