So load up your bikes and get out to West Virginia’s best tracks! Brraaap. BRRAAAP!

1. Burning Rock Outdoor Adventure Park

This adventureland for motorists has been around for a while, and boasts more than 100 miles of terrain for Jeeps, ATVs and quads just south of Beckley.

Burning Rock has a specialized motocross track, constructed with the help of the internationally-renowned designers MX Track Builders and more than 10,000 cubic yards of fill dirt. The track is a big 1.25-mile loop, with a 90-foot triple jump and step ups (jumps that gradually climb in elevation), among other things.

The track has already become the site for the Southern WV MX championship series. Burning Rock also has a kid-friendly “mini-moto” track near the big-kids-playground, so you can bring the whole family!

2. Mountwood Park

This county park opened up a huge complex of trails— 25 miles total, from beginner to expert levels. It is not exclusively a MX facility— ATVs are welcome as well— and the focus is more on adventure and scenery than big jumps.

But if you want a beautiful place to camp, picnic, shower and ride, Mountwood Park is a real gem just 12 miles east of Parkersburg.

3. Mason County Motocross

This track has a constant lineup of races throughout the summer, averaging about 2 per month. They are also frequently open for practice too; check their website’s schedule for more details.

Regardless of your level, from beginner to pro, this track, which is part of the Mason County Fairgrounds in Point Pleasant, is a great place to come compete, or even to watch some really good riders race against each other.

4. Tomahawk MX

This big facility has it all: a main motocross track, a supercross track and tracks specifically for beginners and intermediates, too. It’s a great place to practice and to race, and they’re hosting the Masters of MX series this summer.

With both primitive and RV campsites, Tomahawk is truly a destination-worthy track in the Eastern Panhandle near Hedgesville.
