Dusquesne University Taburitzans

Get ready for a two-hour journey through the cultures of Eastern Europe filled with colorful costumes, live music, and spectacular dances. Now celebrating 79 years, the Duquesne Universty Tamburitzans are the longest-running multicultural ensemble in the United States. More than a dozen languages, more than 200 costumes, and nearly 50 instruments are featured in every show.

Southern Thunder 8 Marching Band

You will hear the bands before you get to the stadium. Once a year, Princeton Senior High Schools sponsors one of the biggest band competitions in southern West Virginia. Email: rmball@k12.wv.us

Camp Creek State Park Fall Festival

Enjoy the rich, fall colors of southern West Virginia, while enjoying music and food at one of Mercer County's three state parks. The park features plenty of walking trails, camp sites, picnic areas, playgrounds and other amenities.

Apple Butter Festival-Berkeley Springs

Annually since 1974, the Apple Butter Festival fills the park and streets of downtown Berkeley Springs on Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day weekend in October. The traditional harvest festival is kicked off by a nostalgic hometown parade on Saturday morning followed by two days worth of family-friendly games and contests, music, country food, fine arts and local crafts. Undisputed star of the festival is the spicy apple butter stirred in giant copper kettles in the middle of the square. With no admission fee and activities for all ages, this is the perfect day or weekend experience for everyone from grandma to the kids.

Holiday of Lights Festival – Bluefield

Drive through 40-plus acres of Christmas lights and celebrate the season underneath a candy cane canopy of lights. Various scenes, all created in Christmas lights, are spread throughout the city park. Weekend events include visits from Santa, walking tours and local choirs. The Holiday of Lights opens Thanksgiving evening and runs through December 31. Sunday-Thursday: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday-Saturday: 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Jackson’s Mill Jubilee

A celebration of Appalachian Heritage, Educational Demonstrations, featuring Indigenous and Bluegrass music concerts, Native American Style Dancing, Chainsaw Carvings, Gristmill demos, Homestead Activities, Photography, Needle Arts and Quilt Show, Antique Tractors and Engines, Carriage Rides, Civil War Encampment, Top quality Artisans, a Zip Line for the active ones, and Kid’s Land for the younger festival participants. Foods – BBQ (Chicken, Beef, & Pork), Homemade Donuts and Ice Cream, Deep Fried Pickles, and more. Fun for the entire family. Hours: Fri. Noon-9 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sun. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Jane Lew Firemen’s Arts & Crafts Festival

Truly a crafters or craft lovers dream event with over 200 contemporary and heritage crafters including: glass, wood, leather, jewelry, dolls, dried & silk flowers, baskets, ceramics, soaps, candles, paintings, honey, jams & jellies and much much more...
