The PBR IS NOT a rodeo - it's two hours of intense bull riding action! During one night of heart-pounding, bone-crushing action, fans can look forward to seeing a star-studded line-up of athletes. The BlueDEF Tour showcases the world’s top cowboys as they battle the rankest bucking bulls. It’s man vs. beast wrapped in the glitz and glamour that only the PBR can provide. Viewers from around the world will watch the action from Reno unfold on all new PBR Live! streaming service. Its action, danger & thrills in an all new bull riding spectacular. FAST FACTS: 70 tons of dirt is brought in each weekend for a PBR event. Over 50 bucking bulls are brought to the event. It takes 7 semi trucks to load in all the supplies for the event. It takes a crew of 30 guys set up for 36 hours for the show to take place. An average PBR bucking bull weighs 1700-2000 lbs. An average bull rider weighs 140 lbs.

The Wheeling Jamboree 84th Anniversary
The Wheeling Jamboree has been presented at over 20 different Venues in the greater Wheeling area since it’s inception back in 1933 and the landmark Capitol Theatre is its most widely recognized. On April 15th a Jamboree show is timed to Celebrate the 84th Anniversary of its “first run” at the Capitol along with the shows “Patriarch”, Country Music Veteran Darnell Miller who Celebrates 50 years as a member of the Jamboree this year. A variety of Jamboree Artist Members are appearing on this special event. Performers will include members of the Wheeling Park High School Bluegrass Band along with other special entertainers. Irish Road Bowling – Kanawha State Forest
An iron and steel small cannonball, called a “bowl” is hurled down a 1.2 mile country lane, fewest throws to the finish line wins, similar to golf. Throws can roll 250 or even 300 yards. Irish Road Bowling can be traced back to the 1600s. One story is that Dutch soldiers brought it when William of Orange came to Ireland in 1689. Another legend says that Irish patriots robbed English cannonballs and rolled them down a country lane by the light of a full moon. Faugh a Ballach! Boots or closed toes footwear, socks, layered outerwear is recommended, head wear and gloves could be handy. • Pack a water or snack. • Photography is permitted, but flash photography is not. We'll need to retain our night vision. • NO FLASHLIGHTS OR HEADLAMPS. Shining a bright flashlight will diminish your night vision for up to 30 minutes, limiting your view of the night sky and wildlife. You can bring a flashlight for the 'just in case' but refrain from shining – we'll let the moon and stars do that! • Participants should be believe they can complete three miles. You can do it! The Music and the Mountains Old Time Festival
The Music and the Mountains Old Time Festival will showcase and celebrate Appalachian culture and craft. This community based, family friendly event will bring together local artisans and musicians to provide an opportunity for our local community and visitors to experience Appalachian craft demonstrations, old time music and dance traditions along with regional food. Friday night's concert will feature old time, traditional Appalachian music. Saturday afternoon events will include: local craft demonstrations, a display of regional archival photographs, old time children's games and activities, an open old time community jam, a cornbread contest and a soup bean dinner. Saturday night will offer beginner square dance lessons and a square dance bard and caller.

Fort Warwick Archaeology Days
The Fort Warwick Archaeology Days project will involve a hands-on archaeological experience, interpretive exhibits, and site tours for students and adult participants at the site of William Warwick’s Fort in Green Bank, Pocahontas County, West Virginia on May 27, 2017. This fort was constructed in 1774 and became an important point of local defense during the Revolutionary War. The site also has a significant prehistoric Native American component. Archaeological excavations supervised by Drs. Stephen and Kim McBride have been ongoing at this site for over a decade and this is your opportunity to assist us in better understanding this site and expanding knowledge of West Virginia’s early history. 31st Annual Great Greenbrier River Race
The Great Greenbrier River Race is a triathlon held in Marlinton, consisting of a 3 mile run, a 4 mile river trip by kayak or canoe, and a 10 mile bike ride. This triathlon takes place along the Greenbrier River Trail and is for the young and old alike. The Great Greenbrier River Race is a family friendly event, and people come from 13 different states to enjoy the event. It's also become a great spectator sport so if you're not in it, come out and cheer for the rest of them.
Red Tail Ring
Red Tail Ring is the musical brainchild of two old-time-minded Michiganders – Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo. The collaboration blends the loving attention of revivalist fervor with the playful creativity of starting from scratch. Whether rendering a traditional tune or one of their many original compositions, the duo infuses each song with musical imagination, haunting harmonies and instrumental artistry. “We love pushing the boundaries of what a traditional song can be,” says Beauchamp. “It informs how we write our original songs. There’s a real energy exchange between the old and the new.”

Augusta Dance
The Mountain Dance Trail, a heritage tourism project of the Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College, will host its monthly square dance on Friday, February 10, in Myles Center for the Arts Pit Dance Studio on the College campus. The event will feature music by Gerry Milnes and friends, with Mary Alice Milnes calling square dances. A beginners’ workshop is set for 7:45 p.m. and the dance starts at 8 p.m. All dances are beginner and family friendly and participants don’t need to come with a dance partner. Admission is $6 for general public, $4 for students and AmeriCorps members, and free to Davis & Elkins College students, faculty and staff. The Ugly Duckling
The Davis & Elkins College Division of Fine and Performing Arts will present “The Ugly Duckling,” adapted by senior Jacob Currence, at 7 p.m. Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21 and at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 in the Boiler House Theatre on the College campus. Based on the children's classic, this student-written puppet show adaptation explores loyalty and faith, while reminding us all that beauty is only “down deep.” Tickets are $5 general admission and free for children 3 and younger, D&E faculty, staff and students. Square Dance
The Mountain Dance Trail, a heritage tourism project of the Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College, will host its monthly square dance on Friday, January 13 in Myles Center for the Arts Pit Dance Studio on the College campus. The event will feature music by Ben Townsend and friends, with Nevada Tribble and other local residents calling square dances. A beginners’ workshop is set for 7:45 p.m. and the dance starts at 8 p.m. All dances are beginner and family friendly and participants don’t need to come with a dance partner. Admission is $6 for general public, $4 for students and AmeriCorps members, and free to Davis & Elkins College students, faculty and staff.
