Wild, Wonderful West Virginia Announces Availability of New West FURginia Guide in Celebration of National Dog Day

Charleston, WV (August 25, 2016) — Wild, Wonderful West Virginia today hosted a press conference at the East End Dog Park in Charleston, announcing the availability of the new West FURginia Guide, in celebration of National Dog Day (Aug. 26). A new addition of a custom Petsie prize to the “West FURginia Friday” contest was also announced.
“We’re so excited to share these pet-friendly adventures included in the WestFURginia Guide,” Commissioner of Tourism Amy Shuler Goodwin said. “From wild trails with unique scents, to tasty eateries where you can hang with your pooch while you dine, you’ll find plenty of unique adventures to embark upon together in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia.”
New to the “West FURginia Friday” contest is a Petsie – a one-of-a-kind plushie that looks just like your furry friend, which will be awarded on a monthly basis. This contest encourages folks to share photos of their furry friends exploring pet-friendly adventures, shops, and stops in West Virginia. Weekly winners receive a “#WestFURginia” collar.
To enter: Submit your pet’s photo at GoToWV.com/WestFURginia and include their name, photo location, and favorite West Virginia activity. The winner will be announced each Friday at noon and will be featured on Wild, Wonderful West Virginia’s social media accounts. Weekly winners receive a #WestFURginia collar and monthly winners a custom Petsie. Other entries may be featured on GoToWV social media.
