WV Symphony Orchestra Concert

November 14, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Led by conductor Lawrence Loh, the WVSO concert will feature works by Mikhail Glinka, Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Georges Bizet, and Antonin Dvorak.

“Waltz of the Flowers” by Tchaikovsky appears in the final dance of the “Nutcracker”. “Carmen Suite No. 1” blends tense moments, tragedy, and colorful rhythms. And Dvorak’s “Symphony No. 9” is nicknamed, “From the New World”, was written during his time in the United States during the 1890’s and the piece draws upon the sounds of African American spirituals, Native American music, and American folk melodies.
