WV Day/America 250 Festival & Train Ride - June 19, 2026

Belington’s Friday evening festival features multiple musicians and performances, games, historic displays, food and craft vendors, a car show, a cornhole tournament, and the ribbon cutting for Barbour County’s America 250 mural.

The entertainment features West Virginia artists who can pick, play, and croon with the best – in a small town, open-air, mid-summer setting designed to complement the music. Stalnaker Hill is “bringing boot stomping bluegrass and outlaw country” to our main stage. Kelsey Jeffries is a singer-songwriter from Bristol, WV, currently residing in Tucker County. She will perform a repertoire of classic country covers and newly minted originals.

Living History performers Doug Wood and Dianne Anestis will take their turn on stage to portray Captain Benjamin and Ann Wilson, settlers who moved to the valley in 1772 and were well established by the time of this performance, 1776. Benjamin and Ann will tell tales of the settlers’ experiences hunting, gathering, and growing/raising food, fiber, and medicine, as well as the active cultural exchange between Native Americans, Caucasians, and African American settlers, showing how today’s Appalachian culture blends elements of all three.

Laurel Mountain VFW Post 410 will have a display of historic firearms, and the Golden Rule Museum will have both an outdoor interactive display and be open for exploring the water-powered elevator and in-house display. The official unveiling of Barbour County’s America 250 mural will also take place. Bounce Houses, games & vendors guarantee that there’s something for everyone.
