Panther State Forest occupies 7,810 rugged acres, and its heavily wooded surroundings offer a range of outdoor amenities. During the summer, visitors can cool off in the swimming pool or watch little ones splash in the wading pool. Picnic shelters are available for rent. Panther Creek is stocked with fresh trout, and in-season hunting is welcome in designated areas with proper licensing.

There are six total campsites that are located along Panther Creek. Each site has an electrical hookup, fireplaces, and picnic tables. Water access is available at the park office located roughly 2.5 miles from campground. The campsites along Panther Creek is open spring through fall, weather permitting.

Panther has a group camp consisting of a 60-person barracks-style house with a main building equipped with a modern kitchen, fireplace and a large open area for meetings and banquets. The group camp area has a large, open field with a volleyball and basketball court, a campfire ring with benches, and hiking trail access to the fire tower and swimming pool. The group camp is available to reserve from the end of April to November. Reservations are required.
