Almost Heaven Governor’s Art Exhibition

Since 2019, the Almost Heaven Governor’s Art Exhibition has showcased the creative abilities of students in West Virginia. This provides elementary, middle and high school students amazing opportunities to share their talents and win prizes.

The Almost Heaven Governor’s Art Exhibition challenges K-12 students to create one-of-a-kind postcard designs illustrating the beauty of West Virginia. This is an annual contest run by the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History. Winners are chosen in three categories – Elementary School, Middle School and High School – and a Best of Show award. Information regarding registration, entry regulations and prizes can be found here.

The winning design among the three categories is used by the West Virginia Department of Tourism – to personally invite and welcome travelers to Almost Heaven. An exhibition of all selected entries is displayed outside the Governor’s Office at the State Capitol in Charleston. Every piece of artwork has a story worth seeing for yourself on your visit to Almost Heaven.
